Motor People:
Raids around the World

It all began way back in 1975: with a phone call from Gianni Marin, editor of Gente Motori magazine, the first seeds of a great project and a fruitful collaboration were sown with Mais Vinicio. Thus began a long-standing partnership that led Pubblimais to paint the graphics of numerous cars participating in the worldwide rallies organized by Gente Motori.
The cars, fresh from the factories of major European manufacturers such as Fiat, Lancia, Citroën, Renault, Peugeot, Opel, Volvo, and Skoda, after being decorated by Pubblimais, were transported thousands of kilometers to fascinating locations around the world and subjected to rigorous tests of every kind, including fuel consumption, endurance, speed, and performance. They were also photographed immersed in natural and landscape settings chosen from the most spectacular and evocative corners of the planet and published periodically in Gente Motori, which with these exclusive features sold far more copies than its competitors of the time.
Given the charm of the images reproducing the cars and the magnificent panoramas in which they were immersed, in 2020 the idea was born of creating a video tribute that would include the most memorable images and allow you to retrace those great adventures in just a few minutes.
We knew this project would take a lot of time as the images had to be carefully selected and "cleaned" to be included in the video, but now that we've seen the final result we're really happy to have finally completed this little undertaking.
It should be noted that the graphics for Gente Motori have a valuable historical and artistic value, as they are all made with paint, but with a strong artisanal and manual component in creating the design templates, logos, and alphabets for the paint job. Furthermore, many of the designs appearing on the cars are the result of original ideas by Vinicio himself, who developed the ideas from Marin's sketches or invented them entirely, drawing inspiration from the myths of ancient civilizations.
This precious photographic documentation collected in the following video uploaded to YouTube can now be shared and made known to all car enthusiasts.
Le ultime foto che vi proponiamo immortalano le vetture all’interno e all’esterno dei locali di Pubblimais, subito dopo la fine delle lavori. Alcune di queste foto furono scattate con una Polaroid dell’epoca.
