LANCIA 037 GRIFONE OLIO FIAT
Lancia Rally 037 Grifone Olio Fiat graphics (1984)
The complete restoration of this car's graphics includes the implementation of the Olio Fiat livery and all the writings and logos present on the original car.
Curiosity
Pubblimais created the original livery for the Grifone team for the car that competed in the 1984 Sanremo Rally, driven by Tabaton and Tedeschini. In the same year, it also painted the livery for the 037 that competed in the Valle d'Aosta Trophy.
Only Pubblimais possesses the original color code for this car's blue paint. Unfortunately, those attempting to restore this livery often make the mistake of painting the 037 the same Olio Fiat Blue as the Fiat 131 Abarth Olio Fiat.
Paint processing
The Olio Fiat livery will be entirely painted like the original, with the same codified colors and period-specific painting methods, further enhancing the vehicle's authenticity. All the yellow VS Olio Fiat lettering on the sides, hood, and rear spoiler, the large yellow VS lettering on the roof, the Grifone and Pirelli lettering on the front and rear grilles, and the Olio Fiat road design on the front hood in gray and white will also be painted.
The livery will not be applied to the fiberglass body using computerized templates, but rather manually, tracing all the graphic elements with tape for a non-artificial and non-replicable aesthetic result with a handcrafted feel: each graphic reproduction will be unique. The rendering of the painted surfaces will also take into account the historical period, so modern high-gloss finishes will not be used where not available at the time.
Technical sponsors, brands, and logos (Hertz, Magneti Marelli, Siem, Speedline, Bilstein, Grifone, Pirelli, Ferodo, Savara, Sabelt, Canonica, OMP, Lancia shields, etc.) will be produced using the highest-quality cast adhesive—with a protective lamination that protects against weathering and abrasion—to faithfully replicate the dimensions and colors of the originals. They can also be printed in "vintage" mode for an effect reminiscent of screen printing and historic stickers. Even stickers that originally had a transparent background will be faithfully replicated.
Adhesive processing
Starting with a blue-based car, all graphics will be applied entirely using adhesive, both for the technical sponsors and the yellow Olio Fiat livery, creating an accurate replica of the painted version.
For the yellow adhesive livery, we will use high-quality, conformable cast adhesive vinyls, applied using a heat-curved method for extremely long life, allowing for application even on all rounded and curved body parts, grilles, and air intakes. If the car is sold, the adhesive graphics can be completely removed without damaging the original car body.
