Race for Glory, we went to see it!

EXCITING!!!

This is the adjective that best describes our state of mind after seeing the movie of the moment, Race of Glory ! Race of Glory (full title: Race of Glory Audi Vs Lancia) is a film produced by and starring Riccardo Scamarcio that tells the story of the 1983 World Rally Championship, when the Lancia 037 managed to beat its better-equipped German rivals, Audi, thanks to the ingenuity and tenacity of Cesare Fiorio and the entire Lancia Team, starting with the legendary German driver Walter Röhrl.

There are many aspects we appreciated about the film: the driving scenes shot live without the aid of special effects, Scamarcio's unconventional acting as Cesare Fiorio , a sometimes gripping screenplay that tells a beautiful story with restraint and effectiveness without ever falling into exaggeration, the ability to bring to life the adrenaline-filled atmosphere and spirit of participation that surrounded the Rally in its so-called golden years. The director certainly took some "licenses": certain characters and events were fictionalized or adapted to the year 1983 for screenplay purposes, and we understand that some insiders may have turned up their noses.

But we must not forget that this work is not a documentary, demanding to recount in detail the exact sequence of events as they occurred chronologically, but rather an enjoyable, flowing, moving, and understandable film for all. In this sense, the film achieves its greatest goal: immersing the viewer for an hour and a half in that fabulous moment in history when anything was possible and Italy was the talk of the world for its unrepeatable sporting achievements.

For this reason, we publicly thank Riccardo Scamarcio for his meticulous research—first involving Cesare Fiorio and then the mechanics, technicians, and other personalities who experienced the events firsthand—and for bringing to the big screen a beautiful film, capable of capturing the essence of those years and bringing renewed enthusiasm to the entire historic rally sector like never before, and this is undoubtedly his greatest achievement!

Finally, we are proud to point out that the presentation of this film was accompanied in several Italian cities, including Rome and Milan, by the presence of an original, ex-official Lancia 037 Martini (owned by the prestigious Fondazione Gino Macaluso per l'Auto Storica), completely painted and decorated by us: Vinicio, Roberto, and Luca Mais. A great satisfaction for this car, which was also driven and displayed by Scamarcio on various television programs, such as "Viva Rai2!" hosted by Fiorello.

In conclusion, if you haven't seen Race of Glory yet , hurry to the cinema or find it on streaming, or we won't consider you true Rally fans anymore!
